My road trip secret weapon

Hey Reader!

Yes, I live in a van, and no, I am not a huge fan of road trips.

The long hours in the car, the researching where to camp, the meals on the go, searching for water to fill our tanks.

I need exercise! I hate sitting around!

But there is ONE THING that keeps me sane when we do our cross-country drives.

And that is Planet Fitness.

No matter where we go in the U.S., we plan our routes and stops wherever there's a Planet Fitness. We can get out of the car, work out, shower and use the bathroom. We do this almost daily when on a road trip.

And Planet Fitness is ONLY $25 per month, and I can bring a guest. Yes, just $25 per month for two people to use this gym all they want.

It's the van lifer's secret weapon.

I just sat on the exercise bike for an hour in Missoula, Montana, and I felt so thankful for this gym that I had my trusted assistant (ChatGPT) write a poem:

Across the miles, from town to town, your purple glow never lets me down.

A van may be tiny, the road may be long, but you give me a shower, a place I belong.

Your treadmills hum, your weights stand tall, you’re the gym that welcomes one and all.

For $25 a month, I’ve found my bliss—a hot shower, bathrooms, and the squat racks I miss.

Some see a gym, but I see more: a refuge, a reset, an open door.

Dear Planet Fitness, I’ll sing it true—van lifers couldn’t roam as far without you.

This poem cracked me up, but it is so true.

Do you belong to a gym? If so, which one?

BTW, you can get a great deal on Planet Fitness by clicking here.

I hope you're having a great day!

Hey Reader! People love to ask me how I afford this life. Here are questions I get on my Facebook pages all the time: “Are you a trust fund baby?” “Do your parents pay for all this?” “Do you even pay taxes?” Yep, I’ve heard it all. The truth is, it took years of hard work, many moments of doubt, and learning a ton about online business to build the life I have now: traveling full-time in both a campervan and on a sailboat. In my latest blog post, I’m spilling the details on: The exact ways I...

Hey Reader! As we journey north through the Sea of Cortez to haul our boat out at the boatyard, I'm starting to think about summer van life adventures. I'm looking forward to easy access to hiking, jogging, and mountain biking, things that are harder to achieve with sailboat life. By the way, if you don't have a van yet, I HIGHLY recommend renting one before buying. Hey Reader! Today is the first day on our passage down the Baja Peninsula that I actually feel okay, maybe even good. We left Long Beach on Saturday night and haven't stopped since. Here's a picture of me on the Long Beach public dock outside Ballast Point hours before we left: Right now we are behind Isla Cedros, protected from the Pacific swell. The wind is light and the weather warm. I slept in two decent shifts: 8:30pm-1230pm, and then again from 730am-1030am. I've always heard that DAY...
